Just had an umami burger for the first time. It was the most fucking pretentious experience of my life.
The dude at the front was greasy and sweaty and really red, looked like he was about to cry constantly. Looked like a fucking tim and eric character.
The menu had a fucking blurb on the side with that outdated tastebud chart of the tongue where it described umami as a concept
There were fucking book shelves in the place with novels and shit on them in between tables.
And the burger itself was shit. the patty itself was falling apart, it was overly slimy, and just boring. It was like they were so fixated on the 'umami' aspect, they forgot fucking other tastes exist. How about some salt? Was any fucking salt used in the creation of this burger?

how the fuck are they getting away with it? just cashing in on the hipster dollar?

So I just looked up that restaurant chain, and they are trying way too hard to come off as gourmet.
What was the price of your meal?

the burger was 13$. Thank fucking god I wasn't paying for the meal.
Feel bad for my friends, though. Should probably reimburse them, but I didn't pick the place out.

Ground beef patty, some kind of parmisan crisp cheese thing, grilled onions, shiitake mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and ketchup.

better than the burger. Came to the table cold, though. Had to send them back to get reheated.

I don't know how to convey this in English text without sounding douche-y, but

Is a fucking unacceptable presentation for the kind of establishment this place is trying to be.

For anyone wondering, they charge $5 for a regular fucking pb&j sandwich and a few bucks more (up to $10) for the meme variants.
