Are GMOs actually bad for you? It feels like they're impossible to avoid and in all the produce I buy.

They're not bad for you. Seriously? How are they so bad? All genetic engineering does is continue what humans have been doing for thousands of years, but in a much faster and more precise way. Over the last 20 years this has unfortunately become something of a celebrity cause among Hollywood and academia with no substantive science backing it up.

probably not bad for you but bad for for
the ecosystem, as they cross pollinate and produce infertile mong seeds
the economy, as they are proprietary strands that people have been sued over. even when they cross pollinate and produce viable seed. that viable seed is now owned by the people who own the patent to that DNA.

they are usually bad for pollinating insects and require other specific products to grow to peak production

they are bad if you happen to be allergic to the foreign genes introduced for some weird trait.

they are engineered for production and not taste, thus is by far the worst.
