what did you get your hands on recently ? did you drink it ?
also, what beers do you drink on the regular ?

I bought pic related a week ago but I don't feel like getting a 75cl sour down so I'll wait to see friends and drink it with them. anyone here tried stuff from Cascade ?
otherwise I like camden hols or hefeweizen style when I just want to get one down the drain

Found out that there was a small bar near me that won best small bar in Western Australia in 2014 so i went to check it out. i found out that is has a bunch of different beer types i have never tried before.

Try more sours I guess. Berliner Weisses are pretty popular but have a low ABV. Goses seem to be the most brewed type but I think they are the worst type of sour, kind of a sweet & sour thing.

Head's up - the International Beer Shop in Leederville has 30% off all Belgian sour singles right now until the end of the month. Definitely worth checking out, Belgians are the masters of sour beer. The staff there are usually happy to give reccs if you want one.

I opened it after coming home.

Color is dark/brown almost like chocolate. But its not a heavy winter beer, on the contrary its quite refreshing and summer like.

Smell is citrus mostly with caramel notes.

Foam unlike most beers is awesome here. It tastes like caramel mostly and its not bitter at all for my taste.

The over all taste of the beer though does not come strong with caramel, it is countered by a coffee like flavor. So its caramel/coffee/normal beer taste.

After taste of the beer is coffee and alcohol as it is around 7-8% alch.

7.5/10 its a interesting beer but not something i was going for tonight!

(I decided to experiment with something different)

Beau's is an all round solid brewery, but I don't think they're anywhere near best in the country (or the province for that matter). Look for fruity beers. Lots of beers (especially in the summer) will be brewed with fresh fruit as like an infusion thing--the downside of this is that you usually need to seek them out AT the breweries themselves. Saisons in particular are very good with fruit, and damn near every state has SOMEBODY with a cherry saison, it seems. Do some research to see if some fruity stuff gets canned/bottled and distributed in your area.

Also, try and find a peanut butter stout/porter (assuming you aren't allergic), those tend to be pretty sweet and unoffending.

Always try to buy local, and there are some good ones in my area. For some reason there seems to be a production issue with my favorite, Manor Hill pilsner, but their Farmhouse Ale is a good second option. Zimbru because bf is Romanian and buys out the local European market when some is available

not my favorite barrel aged, but as far as chili stouts go, it's definitely up there
the taste usually "fuses" all the ingredients together, but with this one, each was very distinct and palatable on its own

Id say get it once for the novelty if you've never had it before. Don't get your expectations up though, it's cheap in the US for a reason.

Yeah when I bought it I also bought a sour from the same brewery, and figured it was also sour since saisons can be and I had expected the brewery to specialize in sours

Despite that, I felt it didn't hold up as a saison in its own right since the spice blend was p shit
