What's an inventive way to add some flare to deviled eggs?

Add some hot sauce? I guess. They're pretty perfect as is and by far my favorite thing about Thanksgiving.

My two favorite kinds of deviled eggs are:
Green Goddess Deviled Eggs:
(To your yolks, add:)
>minced chives
>minced parsley
>minced tarragon
>an anchovy fillet or a bit of anchovy paste
>lemon juice
>s&p
>sour cream and mayonnaise as desired
>garnish with either the tops of chives with the buds attatched or a leaf of parsley and a caper or two.

Curried Deviled Eggs:
(To yolks add:)
>minced scallions
>tiny bit of mashed garlic, even better if it's roasted garlic
>turmeric
>curry powder or garam massla
>spoonful of chutney of your choice, a lot of them work well
>thick plain yogurt as desired
>taste for seasoning
>garnish with a piece of pickled ginger

Thai curry deviled eggs are good too, but indian spices go exceptionally well with eggs. Don't be such a baby. And if you're going to go thai curry style, you'd want to add minced scallion, red or yellow curry paste, lemonrass paste, minced cilantro, thick coconut cream, lime juice, and garnish with a cilantro leaf and thinly sliced bird pepper.

Pickled eggs get too rubbery to be pleasant as deviled eggs, imo. I like pickled eggs on their own, but the whites get too tough, deviled eggs should be pliable and creamily pleasant to bite into.

>> No.10426043

I recently experimented with this. The tw things that worked the best: Coating the whites and deep-frying them, and using meringues as the base, topped with the yolk mixed with sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa dusting. Play around a bit and you get terrific results.

Lemongrass paste is a bit redundant with the curry paste. You could also add minced thai basil.

Nah, you'd want that extra lemongrass to help compliment the creaminess. The curry paste won't have enough of a lemongrass flavor, because it's balanced. But if you want to leave it out, leave it out. And, thai basil would also be good, I agree.

top with a slice of this from Aldi and some dill weed

>> No.10426619

At my parent's 40th anniversary dinner, the caterer served lobster deviled eggs topped with caviar. They were amazing. Butter poached lobster, creme fraiche, chives, truffle salt, red pepper, sevruga caviar on top. I think there was more to it than just that, but I don't remember. I do remember they were fucking delicious and I ate as many as I could get away with.

Sprinkle half with paprika, the other half with cayanne, don’t tell anybody. Normies will never notice at first glance. Me and the mrs. call it dare deviled eggs.

Not a huge fan of fish in general but I have used dill in my deviled eggs and it's definitely an awesome addition.
