What method did you use for that steak?

I used a little 6 inch diameter pot. put oil in, lid on 4 mins each side at a temp 1/2 way below oil burning point.... duno it kind of acted like a mini oven while frying @ same time.

It was quite a long time ago, I honestly can't tell you what it was. But yes I did it as an experiment and it worked so well I never use any other method but that now, unless the steak is too large to fit of course.
