Eclairs are actually pretty easy and cheap to make. Find a recipe and make your own. You can even make them dick shaped if you want.

Is it really that expensive in your country ?
I live in France, and you can already get extremely decent éclairs and religieuses for about 2 euros, if you know some nice bakeries.
I imagine it can be a bit more in the US but come on, it's a pretty basic pastry, it shouldn't be that much.

How is 2 euros for an eclair not expensive? last time I was in France a full sized, good quality baguette was 80 cents.

>> No.10426460

I love the texture of a dorito. I like the commercials they do showing people eat them with that amplified crunch sound. I try to replicate it every time I eat that first dorito. Then I black the fuck out, forget the texture, and eat th whole bag.

More like for a box, not a single éclair.

Don't play fool. I get why it's cheaper. But anon, in France you can also get donuts without destroying your wallet even though it's american. Of course it will be a bit more expensive than in the US, but nothing that shocking. I just say it's a relatively basic pastry.

>>10426444
Price for baguette is about the same. But it's just pretty basic bread dough. Does 2 euros really sound expensive to you ? For an handmade pastry I find this fairly normal.

Now that sounds too cheap, unless a box means two.

Tempura shrimp. Holy fuck does that breading followed by the squishy texture of shrimp feel satisfying.

Also, mandarins and grapes.

Eh, I'm from America and have pretty much been turned off of sugary shit for years - probably because ours is so bad - so I guess I never really paid attention to the actual pastries in France or looked at the prices. I mostly just went around to every boulangerie trying to find the best baguettes because those are amazing, and half the price of the garbage sold in the States under the same name. I do like eclairs, and pain au chocolat, but one of my favorites was a couple places that would put the chocolate inside a demi baguette.

So in France you an also get donuts cheap... even though they are more expensive than America. And yet it confuses you when eclairs are slightly more expensive in America? Are you some kinda dumbass? Just imagine you live in America and not France, and eclairs are donuts. Are you getting it now you dumb frog?

It's also probably a matter of habit. When I visited the US, I was like crazy about donuts, and bought boxes every morning. Pains au chocolats are also about 80-90 cents where I live, but it's relatively easy to bake, it's basically only pâte feuilletée with some chocolate bars in it. Eclairs requires a different kind of dough, then you have to pump cream inside with some frostage on the top. It takes longer to make.

>>10426521
Something being "kind of expensive", and something being "a bit more expensive than" are two different things for me. That's why I said the regular price for those in France to have a comparison point. Are you really going to be a dick about that all day ?
