Well I can tell you how to not quit sugar, and that’s to keep eating the same sweet shit you eat now except repacking sugar with zero calorie sweeteners. You don’t want to quit sugar. You want to quit refined sugar. When you want something sweet, eat a piece of fruit. Not juice, not fruit flavored candy, but actual fruit. Fill up on fibrous vegetables and lean protein. Eat whole grains. Reward yourself with your favorite fruit. Fruit is nature’s candy, and should be treated as an indigenous. One, two pieces a day at most. Also, don’t drink calories.

Cook and make food for yourself since most processed foods have refined sugars. After that switch to rooibos or other flavorful teas. Use honey in tea and yes in coffee, spare no expense in getting honey you really enjoy. Get good teas that can replace soda, like different flavors of rooibos. Learn to cold brew it for the summer.

Make your own desserts with less sugar. Most recipes can have 25% of the sugar taken out without affecting the texture and still be quite sweet. Once you get used to consuming less sugar like this, you'll probably notice that storebought sweets make your throat burn due to the excessive amount of sugar, and you'll naturally keep your sugar consumption in line.

Reduce intake slowly over time. Its hard to quit something you are addicted to cold. I used to eat/drink way too much sugar and now I can't go past the natural sweetness of fruits.

If your looking for something quick, just stop drinking sugary drinks. I found that most of the sugar I was getting was coming from soda and sweetened tea.

Don't do zero calorie sweeteners. Those are linked to memory loss.

I started by substituting la croix for soda and then cut all that shit out completely after a couple months. I just drink water, tea with milk, or black coffee now. I don't eat any deserts or sweet snacks. I don't eat any fast food. I cook for myself. I started doing this about 7 months ago because I went over 200 lbs for the first time in my life. I'm down to 160 now. Feels good.

Not eating carbs has a bundle of positive effects like being less sleepy and it prevents illnesses.
The biggest problem is cost, carbs are the cheapest food item.
Why its easier is because you taste the natural sweetness of foods more clearly if you don't eat anything with sugar so you don't need to think about putting just a little bit of sugar into tea or something.

I did it cold turkey, drank water or plain tea with all my meals, refused extras whenever I ate out and dumped all my snacks and chocolates and swapped them for salads and plain crunchy vegetables.
