Thinking of buying a bottle of glenfiddich 12-year to reward myself for getting a job

The only scotch I've had so far is Lauder's blended because it was cheap as hell, but I'm finally getting over Lauder's off-putting start-of-sip flavor that I think is bad copper despite that I found it comically bad when I started the bottle

So what I want to know is whether it's up to the meme hype and how much of a difference/is it worth it to go to the longer-aged bottlings

I see glenfiddich repeatedly mentioned, so I specifically want to know "the /ck/ opinion" or any helpful opinion, especially involving the longer-aged bottlings since the price quoted to me online triples from 12 years to 18 years

12 year is a good starting point. Most glens will do. I like glenlevit. Glenmorange is also good.

There's a big difference between a single malt and a blended. You'll love it.

if you're under 40 you look like a tool drinking scotch. especially if you only JUST got a job

can't look like a tool when I'm lightly drinking scotch alone in my bedroom

though my alcoholic father swapped to exclusively johnnie walker red sometime after 40 so there's some truth to that

you can't drink scotch when you still live at home either

Why don't you just post there? Did you get a job from the disability office?

actually I could especially drink scotch if I was still living at home since my dad would love a drinking buddy

right now I'm busy being failed out of college in an apartment with 2 friends I've known for over a decade

their dad drinks scotch, too

when I say "quoted to me" I mean I looked at online liquor store inventories because I'll be damned if I ask an actual person something I can find that easily

desu I'd probably crush my skull under several tons of locomotive before going through the process to get a job doled out to me by the disability office

ur the faggot

>> No.10399018

one time, a man called me a faggot for mixing drinks, but I knew he just wanted to convince me I was a faggot so he could get me to agree to wearing a dress and anal
