Depends on the state. I've yet to see a chain gas station carry ammo. I'd say 95% or more don't carry hard liquor either.

Independent gas stations might carry odd selections though; there was a place up north that sold fishing supplies and had 16 large tanks of live bait going at any given time. In addition, they had racks of comic books. Odd little place. Saw a truck-stop once that served very nice buffet food, beer and wine, and old fashioned mead.

So yeah. I would much prefer to live somewhere that's mostly white, mostly polite, and heavily armed against political fuckery. That sure as fuck isn't Australia any more, and it's all changed in my lifetime.
