There has been a problem over on /tv/ with a tumblr mod dishing out 2 week bans and creating honeypot threads since their rylo general got banned

The mods don't really apply rules, what they do is monitor IP addresses. If they get into enough arguments with the same IP address they will issue a ban for some trivial infraction.

Since the odds of getting into an argument with a mod and saying the wrong thing increase with the amount of posting you do, the solution is to spend less time on 4chan.
