Can Yelp be saved?

No.

Per Andrew Zimmern, Yelp is an aggregate of amateur opinions and won't help you. When going to a new place, he recommends following big-name chefs in that area on Twitter and note where they eat.

Only when faggot Yelpers stop pretending to be food critics when the average customer has the palette of a fucking 5 year old

Not really since people are more inclined to use it after a bad experience. Altruism doesn't often transpire after a good experience for the customer.

The ONLY use I have found for reliable yelp reviews is when traveling overseas.

I can tell you from experience working retail at a small business that holy shit the people who work for yelp are rude.

>"Hi I'm Emily from yelp. I wanna speak to the owners. That you?"
>"I'm sorry no it's not. The owners are currently in meetings all afternoon."
>"Geez why are they in so many meetings? You guys making a lot of money or something?"

Who the fuck asked your opinion, Emily

Pic related.

Anyway, people still use Yelp? I use google maps to find food places nearby and only pay attention to reviews that appears to not be written by homosexual males and women.

People don't really work for yelp. It's just where regular people can leave reviews on shit. They use the fact that they review for Yelp to try to sway you into treating them like royalty because you're being told that they plan on leaving a public review of the place.

Not the anon you're quoying but I assumed that Emily was someone that actually works for Yelp in a corporate setting.

Yelp is notorious for twisting the arms of small busineases for positive reviews in exchange for payment.

Bad reviews can break a small business.

hi /ck/, i ordered a rice cooker that doubles as a steamer on the top for the purpose of steaming potatoes thanks to one video i saw posted here once but living off of rice and potatoes might get bland after a while.

i'd like to ask if anyone here knows some family secret about beans. no chickpea's please, i'll use those for hummus when i get a food processor but for now i just need any secret tricks on making beans not taste like crap so they pair well with my chicken and rice prepacked dishes.

otherwise i'd buy baked bean cans but something tells me i shouldn't do that

Yelp is fucking useless, my local dirt cheap sushi buffet averages like 2/5 because everybody who reviewed complained that the staff were rude and the bathroom was dirty but I've been there a dozen times and found that the staff did their job fine and the few times I went to the washroom it was fine as well. It's a bunch of entitled pricks giving bad reviews imo probably blonde haired the-customer-is-always-right-can-I-please-speak-to-your-manager soccer moms
