That is exactly what I did, either in my room or in my locked cupboards, I only ever lost 1 bowl and that's all, whereas everyone else who didn't had loads of things nicked (those girls would always bring 'basketball' men over who would trash the kitchen and be loud twats.
They tried taking my shit before while I was still bloody washing it, I let them know clearly not to touch my stuff.

I am out of there and in a smaller and better place now, though my house-mates always use my teaspoons.

You need to find a free clinic, or just eat it and pay a couple hundred at any clinic. You probably need an antibiotics prescription. They have to take a look/take a culture to prescribe the correct one. Worst case scenario, you can't find a free clinic, and other clinics will not see you or they refuse to set up a payment plan (rare), go to an emergency room.

In college I had 5 other roommates one year in a 3-bedroom apartment with a large common area.

Two of those roommates were especially gross but in the context of cooking one of the two had this George Foreman grill that he used constantly but refused to clean. The grease tray for it collected an amalgamation of fatty sludge and stank up the entire kitchen area. He also always delayed his turn to take out the trash until it would take up most of said kitchen and spill out into the dining area. I nearly came to blows with him over it a few times.

The other guy was just more of a big creep who stalked girls down the hall, smelled like bad cheese probably from masturbating nonstop, and always took over the living room with his favorite movie, Titanic. He sang terribly and loudly in the shower though, which was a source for laughs and redeemed him a little.

Instead, one roomie thinks it's cool to leave a pan in the sink for a week, rinse it, load it into the 1/3 full dishwasher, and then delay unloading it herself. I caught her doing it this morning and she acted so defensive. Actually ticks me off, though I question whether I'm being autistic or she's being rude.
Nobody wants to unload dishes two or three times a week just for her occasional cooking. I can call her out if she leaves stuff out for a week, but I can't call her out for not doing a full load and leaving clean dishes in the machine.
Same with the toilet paper: expect to go through a roll of paper every 2-3 days and have it be "understood" that it's rude to question that.

Not joking at all, it caused us to eat out all the time and not keep anything in the fridge. He was so fucking lazy that he would let things get that bad. By the last half of the 2nd semester that year, everyone else started keeping their own garbage in check but he only got worse. We almost got fined as a whole during winter break because he took off a day early and left his other messes to us to clean. A grease-stained carpet in his room and all sorts of junk he was supposed to clear out. Ironically, the only one who helped me clean that was the creep in retrospect.

Oh, it was predatoring. There was a FB group dedicated to his shit on campus where I recall most this one girl was telling stories about how he would hover outside her roommate's room the year beforehand to try to talk to her, and when confronted about it he flipped out. He also frequented little events in and around the campus, trying to forcefully dance with every girl he saw. When one of my roommates brought his female friend over, he also tried to get her to watch the Paris Hilton sex tape, saying she looked just like her (they looked nothing alike). Among lots of other things. It was bizarre.

Another friend of mine on campus, when he first came over to our place, was like "Oh shit, you live with that guy? We call him 'the goat'." which I found hilarious.

went up there once in the summer to run CAT-5 cabling because i was setting up a semi-permanent home network at the time, may as well link the roommate up and make his punk ass shut up about buying really expensive internet (only bill he pays) when there's no wired network to the upstairs. almost everything in the attic belongs to him, and it's all in big piles haphazardly thrown in there from the doorway. it's unorganized enough that you can't move around easily. there were dirty dishes thrown in there on top of the pile, some pizza boxes too. went back up there around christmas to look for gift wrap, dishes and pizza boxes were still there.

also had the gall to complain about how he's sick of how he's living but i've yet to see any of this shit change or any improvements at all. i chalked it up to being raised fucked up, because that's how his family lives too, but after reading this thread i realize slobs are a lot more common than i'd previously thought.

Roommates never do dishes and keep their dogs in the kitchen, one of whom pees all over the floor. They got mad at me once for not doing the dishes when I was handwashing everything the moment I used it, even washing stuff like silverware so I could use it then putting it away clean. They leave food way past its prime in the fridge to the point it gets mold on it and then blame me for the dirty fridge. They leave dirty cooking pans and such out for days but if I leave it out while it cools or I do something else they get mad. I dont eat much at home anymore. I wish I could tolerate cooking there more but being around them is like torture.
