I was looking for your opinions on single burner induction cooktops for a home or an RV. I want to purchase 4 for the tenants I have. My requirements are... reliability, energy efficiency (which all basically have), and its ability to be easily cleaned.

Why buy a single burner?
No space?

I have one of these induction cookers. They're a bit loud due to fan noise but they boil water extremely fast. Never used a frying pan with this (only boiled water) so I'm not sure about non-boiling cooking activities.

I heard from reviews that the induction top has a pretty small induction surface so thing cook on a frying pan unevenly (really hot in center and cooler outside the center circle).

Anyways, it's pretty reliable.

Single burners because if it fails I won't cry about it. Plus I will be able to afford any warranty available.

With a double burner, or quad, or a fiver, it might be a waste if one or two burners fail.

I have a quad burner at home, I would give it five stars. Its great, easy to clean and i haven't had any troubles in the 2 years I lived here.

if you're actually a landlord all you're gonna give a shit about is reliability.
also you'll want to get a coil one because you have no clue if your tenants' cookware will work with induction

Get the IKEA Tillreda model, I have never seen another model in the affordable home use price range that had sufficiently low settings for simmering. It also has an all glass sensor surface, so there will be no water seeping into cracks to put buttons and display out of action.

The tillreda is the cheapest portable induction I've seen. Some reviews state that it is not good at lower temperatures but good and fast at boiling.

If all things are pretty much equivalent. I might have to go with price. the secura 9100 model is the most economical with warranties. (4 year)... probably made in China.
