It's literally just called buttered egg noodles. You stir amish-style egg noodles with butter and salt, usually as a side with your meat and vegetables.

It's very pleasing but also very neutral so I was fed it often when I had a cold or flu. It's also convenient at get-together because any gravy or sauce can be poured over. Basically like an alternative to mashed potatoes, dumplings, etc.
