Are you suppose to tip on takeout orders for pickup? For example I just ordered a meal on the phone for just a pickup. I was talking to the person at the counter while I waited for the meal, she had then given me the receipt and told me to fill out price and sign and pointed out the tip field. I left no tip as I just picked up the meal there was no service. And he looked at the tip line and said “Uh huh here” handed my food and walked away

I don't, because I don't get served or ask for service and kitchen staff see 0% of tips. So no, I'm not going to tip someone for having the capability of using a cash register.

Some places do expect a tip for takeout, for the supposed effort of putting your food in a tray.
These places are retarded and greedy, almost as bad as places that expect a tip for counter service.

If you aren't even being served, then what exactly are you tipping for?

This, I generally don't but if its my usual place and they take care of me with throwing extra stuff in the bag I tend to throw a couple bucks there way.

Tipping for takeout is not required and shouldn't be expected if you're just taking your bag and leaving. Offer me some tea while I wait or throw in some free shit and get a buck or two. Unusually large or complex orders probably deserve a larger tip though.

Depends on the place. If it's a pizza joint or some place where they make hourly then I generally don't. I've got friends who work to go in a restaurant by my house though, and they make less than minimum wage because they're expected to subsist on tips like a server. It's a pain in the ass trying to figure out which place pays their employees which way, but my rule of thumb is 10% if it's from a restaurant, more if my order is huge/complicated.

I don't tip

Restaurant workers are getting so entitled that 20% tips on food isn't considered enough for many now. 25% is what they considered to be a good tip.
