I think a lot of the confusion over avocados comes from people first encountering then outside of Mexico or California. I've been around the country a fair bit for work and in pretty much every other state the quality of these mysterious green eggs suffers.

I'm not saying it it should be an immediate love affair or even that everyone has to like it, but if you grow up eating these things or have a couple of good ones paired with the right dish....oh boy, you aren't going back.

Want to know why people like avocado toast, it's fucking good. Takes about a half second to prepare making it a great "holy shit I'm late for work" breakfast, and if you live in California you aren't paying out the ass for these suckers. You can find them on sale dirt cheap or if you have a tree you'll literally have more than you know what to do with.

They'll get hated on until the end of time for being associated with hipsters and California, but I highly recommend anyone who had never tried one to experiment in the golden state a bit. Make some guaq or slice it into a sammy.
