The f a m keeps their pans in a large drawer in the kitchen. I like to keep the teflon coated pans on top to keep the from scratching underneath everything else.

One member of the family uses cast iron exclusively whenever they cook, Every time they use their pan they put it on top in the stack and it absolutely scrapes the shit out of the teflon pans underneath. Not just the teflon coating, but actually gouging the metal underneath.

Lucky for them, every family meal they eat comes from one of these gouged pans

Honest answer, while I enjoy cooking I'm not that particular when it comes to what I eat.

I like my steak medium rare, but will happily eat anything between rare and medium well. Veggies a little overdone or something's a little burnt.. it's fine by me.

I cook for other people on occasion, so I've started paying attention to actually getting things right.. but when it's just me I'll revert to no-fucks-given mode when I'm tired or in a time crunch or whatever.

I don't understand what's the supposd sacrilege here. Out of all the existing shapes of pasta this one's the most inconvenient and messy to both prepare and consume. Why wouldn't you break it up to make your life easier?
I never use it if I can avoid it but when I have to I break it in quarters.
