Don't know where this belongs but it involves drinking alcohol

For Americans, what was your state's underage drinking like, was it condemned? I grew up in Southern Louisiana and drinking in High school wasn't a big deal and no parents cared, and 18-21 we drank just as much, if not more than 21 year olds. But when I was talking about it with some friends in Oregon, they were extremely surprised that drinking was that widespread in High School. Some of them hadn't even drank until they turned legal age. There is almost no one I knew who hadn't drank under 21

Is Southern Louisiana just abnormal, or does the rest of the US just take it easy.

They were to busy smoking weed. More people drank than smoked when I was in HS.

talking about continental US, being snowed in for 8 months of the year doesn't count

maybe, but they looked at me like I was crazy when I told them that, like I was committing a serious crime, I think the laws are more strict over there or something, an MIP in Louisiana is like $100 fine or some shit, half the time it gets expunged before you go to court

grew up in rural virginia

7th grade the hick kids started soaking toothpicks in whiskey to suck on at school
meth was probably about as popular as alcohol in highschool. it was very normal for alcohol to be at parties. buddies dad would just hop down to the liqour store and get some for himself too

having moved out of shithole hickworld, the 'normal' age people started drinking there is much younger than anywhere else i've been.
if you let your kid touch alcohol before they stop developing you're straight up fucked in the head

Damn, that's crazy, I'm in Baton Rouge, and while weed is sort of popular, drinking was king, most people started around freshmen or sophomore year of High School, hard drugs are almost non-existent.

Where was I upset, Alaska is hardly part of the US, idk if you've been but cops and people are just very different

I just wanted to hear from people who actually had law enforcement that could get to people and actually enforced dumb shit like underage drinking
