I have made baked chicken.

On this board, that makes me a god.

I now patiently await your praise, plaudits, applause, oaths of fealty, hosannas and requests for nudes to begin my statue, though I haven't figured out where to put it yet. Maybe a piazza in Venice or Tuscany.

I'm not saying you have to write hymns or odes to me. But if you did, that would be nice too. Haikus, limericks and 'Roses are Red' are acceptable.

Write me a nice poem, and I, Anon the Great, Lord of Chicken, Conqueror of the Oven, Master of the Cramped Kitchen in Cheap Flat, shall share my sorcery with you.

But seriously, it was so much simpler than people made it sound. I will share that simplicity with you. It was better than edible; it was actually juicy, crisp skin and even flavorful.

I await.

In repose. Like this here. Just imagine I'm all reposing and stuff.

I guess it will have to do.

So here it is.

You will need:

A roasting pan: $4
A roll of foil: $3
Chicken thighs: $4 for six
Something to pour hot chicken stock in

Preheat to 350F

Place chicken in pan

Season both sides. I just used salt pepper and garlic powder

Cover with foil

Put in oven for an hour

Uncover. Pour stock that it makes out. Store or discard

Return uncovered for half hour

Voila. Tasty chicken.

My cheap flat culinary sorcery, pour vouz.

As a side, I simply cut a huge potato, dropped in with the stock in a pot with butter salt and parsely and boiled till soft, and made some nice parsely potatos.

Ive learned not to fuss with measurements on many things, you can sort of just eyeball a lot of stuff.

PS- After you take the chicken out the last time, let pan cool for about 10-15 minutes before trying to remove chicken, or it is much more likely to stick to the pan.

Also, if you make the parsley potatoes, remember to add water of course. I thought it was implied with 'boil' but not everyone would intuit that and I thought I should make it explicit.
