it's quite simple
take a lean cut, slice it thin and uniform (i use pic related but a knife works it's just a pain)
then i make a marinade, i usually change it up but it needs to be super salty, i use soy sauce and miso a lot, with something sweet, honey, maple syrup, molasses etc.
i usually use alcohol like bourbon or sake for flavor
and then whatever kind of other flavors you like, chili flakes, ginger, garlic all work nicely
let it soak overnight and then dehydrate for about 6 hours

Dehydrators operate by using of a heating element, fan, air vents, and food trays. The heating element, fan and vents work together to circulate air and remove moisture. Heating the food allows for moisture to be released from the food and into the dehydrator. The fan then pushes excess moisture to the vents, where it is released outside of the dehydrator.

I just got some thin sliced beef to make into A1 jerky tonight. Fuckin love beef jerky. Its slightly cheaper than buying store bought without a shitload of unknown preservatives, and I can control the salt.

Also, apple chips are delicious. Bought too many herbs? dry them and save for next meal.

I'm using a biochef one. Basically anything that looks like a toaster oven is fine. Excalibur seems to be the gold standard for home usage. Uhh as long as you don't get those shitty circular ones you'll be right.

What recipe are you following? Because dehydrated bananas are terrible. The ones you get in the stores are normally fried to dry them. At the very least you need to dip them in lemon juice to help maintain their color. Otherwise, they turn black.

Cut them into dilluted lemon juice 10 at a time then moved them to a tray. Then set them to 135* for about 9 hours. They turned out all right - definitely not crunchy like the fried ones from the store but the flavor is excellent. I double-steamed some peanut butter and dipped some of them in it and also dipped some in chocolate and sprinkled nuts on top. Not my favorite, honestly - but I'm pretty happy with it for the first round.
