Huh.. if Apple were a drink, what would it be? I'll go with whatever stupid cocktail is popular at the moment. Are people still drinking Moscow Mules? For Linux, I'm going with mead.

It'd be apple juice. And the guy drinking it would go around the party trying to convince everyone it's just as good, if not better, than the real drinks they've got.

This I believe is the truth. Refreshing but rather void in terms of functionality, at its best when you work around it, and full of too many bubbles.

Windows 98 is more like Club Soda - a little coarser around the edges, but without the forced flavors, more versatile and ultimately easier to work with.

Windows 10 is rootbeer - so cluttered with "features" and "systems" that it's utterly incompatible and confusing as hell to anyone expecting club soda. You work around it rather than with it.

Windows 7 is my personal favorite - Raspberry Green Tea Ginger Ale.

Quirky but highly functional.

It would taste strange at first, maybe a little too sweet and fizzy, but you get used to it. As soon as you start to enjoy it, Apple releases a new drink and suddenly your drink goes flat and tastes like shit.

I agree with you about how tech is so much better but you totally missed his point - unless you think that life is just worth living (and I assume he was being hyperbolic there but the point translates) if it revolves around technology. And if that's the case, that's kind of sad.

Why is that sad? Technology is a beautiful and terrifying thing. It has become an integral part of many people's lives. But life doesn't have to revolve around it if you don't want it to. That may change in 50 years, but for now you can live your life blessed by the conveniences of advanced tech without being completely reliant on it.

That being said, we live in an incredible era. Witnessing the evolution of tech is amazing. Having access to a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips is something people could once only dream of. Being able to control your house with your voice was once restricted to scifi. We have powerful computers that fit in our pockets and self-driving cars. We might even live to see man go to mars. Rhyme unintended. We live in the future, it's fucking awesome. Life is better now than it has ever been in human history. It's not an idyllic utopia, but it's still pretty great.

This is coming from someone who has been depressed and suicidal for 14 years. But my life circumstances would be no different if we were still living in the 80s or 90s. The 21st century and advancements in tech are not responsible for your shit life.
