I have been trying to use sugar as the weight when I blind bake my pie crusts per Stella Parks' instructions from Serious Eats. I have some double toasted sugar and I used it right before some stovetop popcorn was done and got a really lovely kettle corn flavor out of it. Highly recommend adding toasted sugar to your popcorn for instant caramel flavor.
