Hey /ck/

I need a good blender or something that can turn red onion, bell peppers, spinach and carrots into paste so I can cook them into my meatball stew.

Are you talking about adding to the meatball meat? Or adding to the liquid in the soup? If to the soup, I'd simply chop it by hand.

A processor might do a better job grating, chopping and combining your other application though. I have a black n decker small chopper here at my vacation home that allows me to do my cranberry-orange-pecan jello salad, whirl up some dried and reconstituted pasilla chilies for my soup or enchilada sauce, or to quick chop some veggies and pork for stuffing won ton wrappers. I have to work in small batches.
I bought it at Goodwill for $5 in the box unused. I'm sure it would be under $50 new, of course.

That one is granite and will last a lifetime. I've used them for years and never gotten any particles in any food. The insides of the mortar and the outside of the pestle are pretty well smoothed out.

Just googled it. It's worth about $15. There ya go. Start there, and unless you are making pina coladas or bread dough, you don't need a fancy model for now. Try the cheap one.

This, check out the reviews on the mortar and pestle too, I bought a marble one for grinding sesame seeds into a paste for sauce and the coating wore off after having the mix sit it for barely any time.

One thing, let the pestle and gravity do the work. If you actively crush things with the pestle you can damage the mortar. The pestle is heavy for a reason and just picking it up and letting it fall on whatever is in the mortar is enough to get the job done.
