Fuck my grocery bills have gone up. The sad part is that it's mostly "everyday" crap that I've bought the same for 10 years straight. Seems like it don't take much items in a cart to push that bill over $100 anymore.

Also fast food is a joke anymore. The whole "value" part has gone right out the window. Sure they got a dollar menu but the size of the portion is like what you'd feed a kid. Not a adult. They put to many things on a modern menu anymore. Look at mcd's. Part of the reason why they went with the all digital boards was due to menu overload. Look at Wendy's. They still use the same basic boards. No plans to change it either. Cause they don't have waste.

I don't really care how long it takes. But I guess that's because the only item from McD's that I like or ever get is the steak bagel. In my experience about half the mcdonald's around my city will serve it during lunch hours despite it not being on the all day breakfast menu. Which is pretty good as far as I'm concerned. It takes even longer if you get it at that time, but it's worth the wait. So what if I can get something I don't even want or like at light speed? You might say I can just go to any restaurant and get whatever I want. But McD's still has the added convenience of having drive-thrus AND more locations than almost any other chain. That's still something.

Definitely slowed them down. When I was a kid in the early nineties everything had been made in advance and was waiting on a warm shelf. You would get what you ordered immediately, and the people out back would make a new burger to replace the lost one. We never had to move to the side while our order was prepared and wait for our number to be called. Now there are too many possible burgers to do that, and they're always made fresh. But on the other hand the burgers are always made fresh, so they're better, and that's nothing to complain about unless you're the asshole who has to make all the orders before some fatty starts screaming about having to wait too long.

I used to go to mcdonalds a bunch last year when they had the good deals on the app and a decent $1 menu. But now ever since they got rid of most the $1 menu items and the app deals are crap, I'd rather go to wendys or even burger king. McDonalds charging like $9 for a meal is a fuckin joke. I used to be able to go to mcdonalds and get a simple burger and mchicken for only $2. Now that would cost like $3 and change only a year later.

>> No.12684965

Complex menus are fine for fast food restaurants as long as you can browse the menu. McDonald's has this nailed with their self serve machines presenting every option. Others (KFC, Burger King) have just as many items off the menu as on at which point you should just sell less.

DESU I think bars should adopt the same rules. If an item (ignoring cocktails) isn't on the drinks menu then don't sell it. Trying every item one by one until you figure out which are good value is suffering.

They also made the items cheaper. The hamburger has shrunk, and for toppings you get one pickle and half a teaspoon of diced onion. Burger King also reduced the size and quality of their nuggets in preparation for their cheapo menu. A meal at either these days costs like $13.

Inflation in the past few years hasn't been bad at all despite a booming economy. The fed has hiked rates ten times since Trump's inauguration to prevent overboil. We are at record lows for unemployment, record bull run, and record expansion (which did happen partially under Obama, to be fair). Under Obama the fed rate sat at its minimum for a record amount of time and was raised only twice.
