I don't think it's weird or gross, I just think it's an attempt to take a common US dish like chili and try to force it to be unique by tossing it it on a bed of spaghetti. I feel like a 5 year old came up with the idea.

You have this in Ohio too, though we do it better than you just like everything else.

Mageiritsa (literally translates to little cook).

It's a soup made with green vegetables, rice, dill and lamb viscera, mainly liver and sometimes lungs.

Traditionally eaten at Saturday night before Easter in Greece.

People swear up and down that it's delicious. Personally just a whiff is enough to make me nauseous.

Originally from Hawaii and was just thinking about this before you posted the obvious answer. There's ton's of shit that's pretty foreign to mainlanders, but the thing I think I've gotten the most flak for, both here and in real life, is putting soy sauce on rice. There are much stranger things that people commonly eat (e.g. Li hing mui), but I've gotten a lot of shit for thinking it was normal to put shoyu on your rice.

I used to bring a couple musubi to school every day for years growing up, but don't really like spam any other way, other than with rice and eggs. But yeah, most people change their opinion on spam when I make them musubi. Shit's the bomb.

In my experience, yeah. Most of the shit I've got was from posting OC here, though. Probably because of all the weebs who think that putting soy sauce on rice is taboo in Japan.

Funny story: One time, probably in high school, someone in class mentioned something about how shoyu on rice is the best thing ever, and a (haole) girl I was friends with piped up with something like, "yeah, soy sauce and a pat of butter is the best way to eat rice!" And half the class were like, "butter on rice? You're fucking crazy; nobody does that!"

Americans view chili as anything that resembles the shit that comes out of a hormel can, not necessarily the narrow definition you subscribe to. Oddly enough I never saw it once. Juicy-lucys are all over the place though. And you can open a liquor-store across that is next to a liquor store which is next to a liquor store and rake in money. Seeing a book-shop/wine shop is hilarious.

>Minnesotans are so fucking retarded holy shit.
Fuck on off; the cities have one of the highest per capita rates of concerts in the states and that's before we start counting small bands in large venues, an immensely diverse range of food items that I'm sure most idiots wouldn't be aware existed, and some decent (but not best) hunting fishing camping grounds in the US.

Sauerkraut, apparently. There are various different ways to prepare it. Bavarian kraut for example is sweet, and I suspect that's what most Americans know. Actual sour sauerkraut is great with Bratwurst.

A typical dish where I grew up is Quark mit Leinöl und Pellkartoffeln. Easy to make, tasty, nutritious. GOAT dish in the summer. "Was macht Lausitzer Jungen stark? Pellkartoffeln, Leinöl, Quark!"

I win hands down.

I'm from Scotland, and everyone seems to think Haggis is abhorrent. It's literally just a meaty version of stuffing with a hint of spice.

The original boil in a bag meal.

Pic is my favorite traditional Scottish dish - Balmoral Chicken.

it's a chicken breast/supreme, wrapped in bacon and stuffed with haggis. usually served with root veggies, potatoes, and a creamy, peppery whisky sauce.
