Also, Epcot was having their Flower and Garden festival when we went. All the countries in the World Showcase has kiosks serving food exclusive to the event. Canada had Beef Tenderloin Tips with Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce, Whipped Potatoes with Garden Vegetables

China had spicy chicken lettuce wraps which were also amazing. And don't get me started on the exclusive drinks and cocktails.

For me, it's a sit down dinner at Liberty Tree tavern at the Magic Kingdom.

Restaurant is themed like the American revolution and serves all the best comfort foods, Family style.

I always remember going there with my family as a kid. We'd just get chips or a hot dog for lunch, but it was always a treat to spend an hour or so in awesome air conditioning and enjoy a family style meal. Pic related is their turkey dinner, believe they also offer a halibut dinner or a meatloaf dinner. All the sides are the same.

Apparently Bantha burgers exist in the Star Wars universe, so I'm assuming that, although we know it'll really be beef. When you're creating a menu based on a fantasy universe, it kinda kills the immersion when you know the actual ingredients.

The only thing decent at Disneyland is the fried chicken at the restaurant next to tomorrow land. Everything else tastes like microwaved food and costs 10x as much.

I went to black derby a year or so ago and was deeply disappointed by the trend that disney has recently started to do by basically reducing all of their deserts save a few signatures to 'dessert shots' - stop. I'm not there to be on a diet, I'm on fucking vacation.

Skipper Canteen is as good as it gets in Walt Disney World, both in theme and food offerings. The staff there is great too, never met a CM there that wasn't fun to talk to.

Only been to Disneyland once, but the food standard there seemed much higher than WDW's, even in small quick services and food windows. Really enjoyed both Cafe Orleans & French Market. Next time I make a trip to the west coast I'll definitely be going to Blue Bayou.

At Disneyland the last restaurant open often will be Royal Street Veranda. By this time you're exhausted from being on your feet all day. They have gumbo bowls and clam chowder that are really damn good. When you're exhausted they're epic.

Quick protein, great carb reload. It's everything you need to survive making it out of the park. There is almost always a line and hard to find seating.

I got the Mickey shaped burger in your pic with fries and an iced tea for a decent price, but didn't get fast passes, so my group spent most of our time waiting for mediocre rides. Also didn't see alcohol being sold anywhere, which would have greatly eased my pain.

There's a bakery run by a little old lady across from my school here that has cute buns and whatnot with pig faces, cat faces, and (for Halloween) Jack-o-Lantern faces. So cute. The local convenience store has chicken-filled buns decorated like cut chickens right now.

PROTIP: Ask the cashier to give you extra icing for your cinnamon roll, and they will literally go in the back and drown the motherfucking in it, and it will be fresh and hot.

Also, School Bread in the Norway pavillion at Epcot is equally as delicious, and it's like $3.50, so at disney prices it's a bargain. There's even enough where you could share with a friend, like the above cinnamon bun.

At Animal Kingdom, the BBQ is really good. Just get it, doesn't matter where. Also, in the asia section there is a food truck that sells samosas and falafel (especially the falafel), both have the best versions of these dishes I've ever had at Disney, including the food and wine festivals, but it's avaialable all year.

One of the best values is at Cosmic Rays or Casey's Corner. You can get half a chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans for about $15. You can easilly share this with another person. At Caseys, get the footlong dog, ALWAYS. It makes no sense to get the smaller size at the prices they charge. Foot long with chili cheese will feed 2 people, and you get a boatload of crispy fries as well.

Rules on this vary by amusement park, most parks say no outside food because obviously they want you to pay $15 for Sysco chicken tenders. Disney allows you to bring snacks in, Knoebels in Pennsylvania on the other hand actually has a free picnic area which is pretty comfy.

What foods are must have that are worth the price for dinner than eating at a restaurant in Los Angeles?

Been to disney land japan, they have these steamed buns in the shape of mickey mouse hands with chicken and lettuce i think. I remember them being pretty good

Great view of the fireworks and great desserts, expensive though. It's been awhile, but I remember the Brown Derby at MGM was really good, also recently there's that large Beauty and the Beast place to eat, it was good, but when we ate there it took quitr awhile to get in.

Besides that I'm having trouble thinking of other really stand out places to eat, normally we might get a quick lunch at the parks, but we do dinner either at the rented house if we have one or go to a restaurant somewhere else maybe on a hotel property. Mama Della's at the Portofino is really good italian, went to Tchoup Chop for my birthday once and it was good. Yeah kind of deviating from the topic, but there's a lot of great places to eat around Orlando and the parks and you might not be paying as much as in the park.

Also a general tip for anyone new to Disney or theme parks, if you're really interested in riding rides, always go to the back of the park first then work your way up.

Yeah last time I was at Disney they changed it to some shitty system where you choose 3 freepasses at certain times ahead of time, found it to be one of the worst fastpass systems I've seen at a theme park. The universal one is nice, though if you go at the right time of year you might not need it, went one year I think in February and there wasnt a line for anything in both universal and islands. There's a site that shows the expected crowds for parks at every day of the year.

It's Disney, most people coming into a restaurant are there after a day at the parks, and their reputation is based on the idea that they will bend over backwards for almost any request no matter how unreasonable or entitled. There's very few restaurants that have a strict dress code on property. Victoria & Alberts goes as far as to ban children under 12. It's legitimate fine dining.

About to go to Disney World for the homebuilders convention. Any good places that don't get a lot of notice?

In park, I would have to say Epcot's Rose n' Crown. Just so many nice beers and greatly-pulled off simple dishes there. Get a reservation for an hour before the fireworks, have a few drinks, a great meal and enjoy the show.

Buena Vista (formerly Disney Village, but not owned by Disney anymore) had a quaint Italian joint doing higher-end food at bargain prices, called D'Antonio's.

For some of the best burgers an a 50s malt shop type experience, Becahes n' Cream at the Yacht Club resort is just tops.


Any other suggestions? Best Epcot country? Is there even anything good at Downtown Disney that isn't a crappy chain or $40 a head without drink?
