Exclude the thyme and allspice, and usually basil. Add the salt and pepper but both not pre-ground and you have pretty much all the spices you would need. I don't think liquids count as spices technically but I do like to use a lot of vinegars in my cooking too

That's what most people use because womens magazines in the 50's initiated a huge scare about goiters because some isolated group of appalaichan hillbillies had such a poor diet they didn't get iodine. But you can find kosher and sea salt even in the most backwoods walmart.
