I think that this is just wasting of time and water.
The "stuff" will dry on it and when you pour water in it using next day to make soup it will get soft and will cook with the new ingredients and spices.
I leave my pot uncovered to dry but I don't wash it every time and I'm doing that for almost a year now and never had to wash my pot,
as long as you leave it open so the air will dry it inside nothing bad will grow in it from few dried up pieces of spices.
Why to waste time or water?

Or like on this day,
there is so little of dry spices left in the pot that washing it with water would be only waste of water and added nothing of value.

So you think that after almost a year I would be dead by now from all those nasty toxic metabolites?
but I'm doing great and saving my time and water by not being paranoid of washing my soup pot everyday that I will use next day again.

just calculate how many gallons of water is used every day to wash simple soup pot and multiply that by 100 million,
that's how many at the minimum soup pots is being washed everyday just in the USA.

Let's say it takes 3 gallons of water to wash one soup pot that you will use it agin the next day.
3 gal x 100 million = 300 million gallons of water wasted every day.
even if it takes only 1 gallon of water, that is 100 million of gallons of water wasted.

rancidity can still occur by contact with the air; moisture is not required for that process.

I use a lot of disposable kitchen stuff (forks, spoon, plates, bowls), but when I need to clean something, I don't use soap.

I rinse and wipe dry with paper towel over and over until I can't feel any residue on the item. Takes maybe 2-5 passes depending on what the item is dirty with and I fold the paper towel between wipes until I finish or need a new one.

Just seems like less hassle than the dishwasher, since I barely use stuff I need to clean, but it might be more sanitary than using a filthy sponge, I don't know.

Bacteria will grow on wet towels.
Strictly speaking, the towel is clean before and after the first time you use it. It is not clean several hours later, and it is even less clean several hours after your next use.
Eventually that characteristic mildew smell will grow on it and you'll have to wash your towels with vinegar.

You can test this by occasionally dousing a small hand towel with water and leaving it to hang, not using it on anything. It will be slower because it hasn't absorbed anything from your skin or your kitchen surfaces, but eventually the bacteria and fungi in the air will do the job.

This isn't worth saving a little water for what would NOT pass a US gov't health inspection for a REASON. Leaving food out in the air to "Dry", exposed to bacteria, and then cooking with it again is a problem.
And besides, if you're washing dishes in your sink, are you really stupid enough to leave a tap running to wash a sole pot, rather than use the same dishwater you used for literally everything else?

>> No.9827289
