probably the best I've ever had.

Not recommended for people that haven't really had experience drinking whiskey. It's good, but only unto itself- with all the prior experience.

It truly is worthy of its name "harmony" as it balances all flavors subtly, with the aroma's being with a slight hint of vanilla.

I had a bottle of the 12 year old before they made it NAS and it was very nice. Very delicate so make sure you clear your palate with a cup of coffee or something before hand and take time to enjoy it. Don't have a heavy beer or something along side as that will over power it. It could be mistaken for Scottish whisky, there is nowhere near the difference that exists between for example bourbon and Scotch. Enjoy, it is a nice dram. If you like it you should have a look at some Highland and Speyside malts next. The Jap stuff is good but overhyped leading to overpriced IMO.

There's nothing better than overwhelming flavors.
Anyway, last few times I've been wondering on Glenmorangie, instead I have bought a bottle of Balblair 1st edition, Highland park 12yo viking honour and something else that's currently slipping my mind.

tried shots, i kind of liked that but i guess its not for drinking often
then had baileys on rocks, and i absolutely loved it. but im insecure about my masculinity so im wondering, is it considered a girly drink?
also what should i try next time?

Pure malt is a 60-70 dollar of Johnnie Walker black, I got through maybe 1/4 of the bottle before I started mixing it. Nikka Coffey Malt is 10x better

Lots of people start off drinking "girly" shit and expand their palettes as they go, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Try some other liquors maybe. Amaretto is almond liquor and is really good straight, mixed with cola or orange juice.

I have a bottle of this and its a nice gin.

...But I really dont think its worth the money. Also have The Botanist, Adnams First Rate and Abelforth Bathtub Gin at the monent. They are all much cheaper and still make just a good martini.

Took me a while and a few bottles, but I came to the conclusion that expensive gin just isnt really worth it. Sure you can get some nice stuff, but once you mix it, a lot of the subtleties are gone. May as well just use the mid range gin for an equally good result.

expensive gin is worth it if you drink it straight imo.

hendricks is quite common in london (bartender atm) and desu its fantastic on its own with a bit of cucumber ( and yea i know its not super expensive but its definitely good for the price )

i agree that if you mix a nice gin theres not much point tho. if im making g&ts ill buy gordons or even store brand desu.

Hendricks is my favorite gin, although aside from the classics like from Bombay, Tanqueray, Beefeater and Gordon's, I haven't branched out too much in all honesty. Citadelle was also pretty good from what I remember.

Can anyone recommend some other gins to me? Price isn't a big concern.

I havent tried drinking straight gin. Will give that a go with the ones I've got. Not really my go to drink in winter though.

Once I've gone through this current selection, I will probably revert to cheaper versions. Plenty on offer for £15-£25 rather than going up to £30+

I only drink neat, and it really shines above The Botanist. Still not worth it regularly since Botanivore comes so close for so much less money (actually less than Botanist too). Still worth to try once.

Can't recommend St. George Botanivore highly enough. Damn amazing for not too expensive. Their Terrior is great too, comforting pine forest in a bottle, but it's definitely a polarizing taste

Try out Bulldog, some lovely citrus notes. My standard go-to gins are Broker's and Bombay because gin ought to taste like gin, not cucumber. If you want to experiment, Boomsma jonge genever is a nice variation on the same old, a little more body and even a bit of a "malty" backbone that almost shines through a bit. It's neat, also quite affordable. If you like gin, try it out.

>>9827467
Drink what you like, drink things similar to what you like. Expand your palate at your whim. It's your life to live. As for being insecure in your masculinity, stop. There's nothing manlier than drinking all the girly shit you want because you fuckin feel like it. For beer, you probably tried shitty beer. For "shots", that could mean literally anything, but as an oldfag I do consider the fun in doing shots of liquor to be half in the ritual itself, and it also took years of downing shots of whiskey to not gag. I still prefer to sip, or at least swig.

As for liqueurs, Bailey's on ice is great, how can you not enjoy it for what it is? You're bound to find you can handle liqueurs more than neat liquor at first and there's nothing wrong with that. Try Tuaca or Jagermeister.

I'm assuming you're in college and I don't want to know how old you are. Don't go crazy with this shit and don't be a faggot like most of the people you think you see in college. As a budding gourmet, you know damn well that drinking is about life's pleasures - it's about spinning your gluttony desire to get your buzz on as Epicureanism. Cheers!
