In the US? It's definitely supposed to be $2.50 before tax. McDoubles are on the pick 2 for $2.50 menu along with McChicken and small fries (and one other thing I forget). Menu price for a McDouble is $1.59 I believe, before the deal. It sounds like you got charged that price twice instead of getting the deal applied. Not where i live though. The first burger I ever had was from there and it was so terrible that I wouldn't touch burgers for the next 15 years because I was convinced that I hated them.

last year I tried their chicken selects when they brought them back for a limited time and they were mostly breading and dry as fuck. I felt sick to my stomach for the entire day after that.

As for the apple pies they sell apple slices, so I trust their cooked ones. Short of them being rotten or moldy there's very little you can do to fuck them up to the degree they fuck some of their meat up. As for the high-fructose corn syrup and shit, when you're getting a desert you already know it's going to be unhealthy, so it's fine.
