/mu/ here, Do you listen to music while you cook? If so what kind of music gets you inspired in the kitchen?

>> No.9731900

I do, and I listen to things like Rage Against The Machine, Daft Punk, Foo Fighters, various punk rock bands but also dad rock like Elton John and The Beatles.

It's really a mood thing.

Sometimes I like to pretend I'm Hannibal and put on classical music and cook in slow motion in my mind and pretend I'm serving my food to Will Graham and we have that deeply homo-erotic stare into each other's eyes and he says to me "this was my design" as he leans in

No but I listen to podcasts. It’s comfy

Depends on what I'm cooking. For standard American dinner fare I listen to local talk radio. For something like pasta and meatballs/pork chops it's gotta be Dean, Frank or Bobby Darin. For tacos/burritos/enchiladas it's Pink Floyd.

Yes. I pop in my earbuds and jam to some electroswing mixes usually.

I was just cooking something and listening to music as I did.
I just let music play at random out of nearly 3gb of MP3s as I cooked.
The songs that played just now, in reverse order (last to first), were:
Binocular by Self
Devil Song by The Lovebirds
Mind Your Own Business by Chicks On Speed
Almond Tree by Hannah Peel
Scum by Project Pollen
Maria by Project Pollen
"M" is For Morphine by The World/Inferno Friendship Society
Crying in Airports by Whale
Papa Legba by Talking Heads
Feel My Way by The Mysteries of Life
and Christian Woman by Type O Negative (though I skipped the last part as I never did like that bit as I always thought it a tad dumb).

It's mostly from that area, yes. It is the comfiest in my list and the ep duration is suitable for cooking. Other podcasts could be Bill Burrs MMP, Freakonomics, Jordan Peterson, Dan Carlins HcH. Also recently started listening to "A history of Greece" w/ John Bury. Pretty good so far.
