Back to the bottle for me. I just came to terms with the fact that I am not who my crush wants. She wants her best friend, and I can see that in how she talks about him. She tried to spare me from the jealousy and heartbreak, but in the end it was kinder of her to let me know. Still, the month or so that we were together was the happiest month of my life. My depression disappeared entirely, I legitimately looked forward to waking up, and I even stopped drinking. Now I am right back where I started, with my lips alternating between the throat of a vodka bottle and the barrel of a loaded gun.

Drink Coke Zero or something retard. If you're going to be drinking alcohol to get drunk it's not going to impede that and also means you can buy cheaper stuff and down more of it over the same period. If you're downing spirits 24/7 without some sugar to break up the alcohol you'll not only fuck yourself even harder, you'll find it tough to get them down as early as the second day.

I still have a drink now and again though. I'll have a beer after work, wine for a fancy meal, a margarita with a meal at a mexican place because goddamn I love sour. It's rare though. Even minor withdrawals sucks. Waking up every night at 3AM sweating your asshole, severe mental guilt, anxiety about what you are doing to yourself, yet at noon you already feel cravings it's awful.

Then once you progress beyond that point it's not even just sweats, general sleeping issues, difficulty sleeping unless drunk. General confusion, heavy fog about you for weeks until dry.

After you go deeper into alcoholism it becomes much worse, morning sickness, general inability to function well, if at all, without a few drinks leaving you small windows daily to operate. This is the point many people lose jobs and relationships.

Once those are all gone it just becomes a downward spiral to constant drinking and literally just living in a stupor until you get out of it.

It really depends on how long you've been drinking anon. A half bottle (750ml?) is not actually that much. Now if you have been doing it for decades, that's different.

Definitely taper off, but know this. I only drank heavily for 3 years, roughly didn't drink 2-3 days a month in that period, and I am currently 10 days sober and I forget a ton of shit I do earlier, conversations. It's a typical mental fog that can last from a week to about 2 months depending on how long you've drank.

It will pass, you are more anxious than anything.

>> No.9699302

i get sweats if the withdrawals are significant enough. are you shaky? sweating? drink the beer over 20 minutes and see how you feel then. if you feel better, you were getting withdrawals.

right. Nerve damage is a one way ride. For now. Maybe they'll come up with something someday. It's also a symptom of diabetes, which is usually part of the alcoholic sequela anyway, so it's all tangled up.
