It's the hookup for the dishwasher, yeah. Water supply and drainage. It comes off by pulling down on the larger white bit, which disconnects it from the nipple clamp and turns the tap back into a tap.

I've been meaning to get a splitter, so that I can leave it attached. It's not a big deal to disconnect it after a use, but it's enough of a minor inconvenience that I'm considering spending the 20$ for a splitter.

>>9601236
Not like I can do much with that counter space anyway. I used to hand-wash, and the dish rack took up half of the space, then I had my kettle in the corner (facing out of the kitchen, completely unreachable from the kitchen).

>> No.9601540

>>9601515
It's definitely worth it. Doing dishes by hand usually took me ten to twenty minutes (at least), twice or more each day. Now? Not even a minute to load and set the thing, turn it on and away I go to relax. It's like night and day.

It was the cheapest model I could find on Amazon, for about 300$ (CAD). Depending on your area you could probably find one cheaper, or maybe even in a shop. Though if you've got the space, I'd suggest going with a portable instead; they extend your counter rather that taking from it, and can hold a lot more.

Don't get anything smaller than the 3-cup Moka Pot and don't get anything other than a Bialetti or an Allegra (same brand, silicone gasket instead).

I've seen this kitchen before....2 things are outstanding: the wall mounted faucets, and the sunken sink. Those 2 things alone, common in restaurant kitchens but rare in homes, make it 100x easier to keep things clean, hygienic, and efficient. No rags, just a squeegee. It's what I'd put in my kitchen if I weren't renting.

I would like to replace the oven, I feel like it's a little dated and the temp is off a bit. Even though I can obviously adjust it fine that sort of drives me bonkers. Honestly though most stuff i can do on the range or convection oven, though.

holy shit that wall tile is godawful. especially above the cabinets. if you removed those and painted it a white or off-white, that room would like 20 times better. seriously, look at this screenshot of just the tile as a backsplash. it isn't GREAT, but it's a ton better than seeing that all over.

honestly, consider replacing the backsplash and get something else. maybe a simple white subway tile and behind the stove, put a mosaic as an accent

you just redid your kitchen and deliberately got those cheap ass appliances? such a waste. also i don't like the design of putting the stove directly up against the wall. even a 6" spice drawer cabinet with a tiny countertop makes it look a lot nicer. the cabinets and tiles aren't bad, anon. maybe not your 1st choice, but they're not bad, either. that floor is fugly and your blinds are warped. don't like the overall design with the fridge, sink and range all on opposite sides of the room. that's a lot of running back and forth for stuff.

i rent, so i'm in rental/10 mode. i just work in kitchen design, so these are fairly standard opinions that most design folks will tell you.

if/when i get to do my own, it will probably be either very dark wood if it gets any light, or a gloss white/light grey otherwise, granite top in a light color because i like the irregularity of veining and probably a large format 12x24 tile with a not-very-noticeable pattern to it. backsplash could be one of numerous options, but nothing monochromatic.
