I just got a weird fucking call.

My ex who I haven't spoken to in almost 4 years called me and just apologized for some reason. The conversation was about 3 minutes, Mostly her saying she's sorry and she would like to get back together.

I said no and she hung up on me lol.

I haven't even spoken to that bitch in almost 4 years, Last I heard she was dating some fuckin guy 10 years older then her.

A whole lot
It's like this
Your body has to maintain equal levels of water throughout your body. It's just osmosis/diffusion. Just physics
If you eat food, your body will draw out water because your blood is less watery than food, for the most part. That's why your shits are hard.

But if you drink too much, your gut content will have a lot of alcohol. Physics will say it has to be equal, so osmosis will draw out water from your blood to dilute the alcohol in your gut.
That's why you have the alcoshits. Because all that water gets in your guts and creates liquid shit.

The way to counter that, or at least reduce it, is to drink a lot of water so that the concentration between your gut and your blood remains roughly equal

I made some mistakes here because I'm drunk.
The bottom line is that if you drink, part of the alcohol will be absorbed and get you drunk. The other part will stay in your gut. To neutralize that concentration, your body will flood your gut. That's what gives you shits and dehydrates you.

Why as soon as I drink again, the dehydration completely goes away. I wake up with my eyes dry as fuck, my mouth drier than that, and my nose is so dry I can barely breath through it.

Be a druggies and get shitty jobs that have drug tests.
Not be a druggies and just be a fuck up and have a job that has drug tests.
Not be a druggies and not be a fuck up and have a job that doesn't have drug tests.

>hours 4-8 you may not be able to sleep, paranoia, heart rate speeds up to nearly racing, dizziness, mild hallucinations, hand and body tremors
>hours 12-24, these symptoms will quadruple.. especially the dizziness, and paranoia. At this point, you may begin to vomit like you have never vomited before.. all while having hallucinations of horribleness and death
>48-72... most are done by this point.. but if you were really bad, you could slip into DTS.. but that’s totally different

And also.. you will sweat a lot, get hot and cold flashes... just stuff like that. You will also have very dry eyes, throat and mouth, be EXTREMELY depressed, blah blah blah.

Jesus fucking Christ. Spent all last night tossing and turning, throwing up and worrying that I’ll have a seizure. Bought 70cl at 8am, it’s now all gone at 11.30am and I’m scared to death of sobering up in a few hours.
Also, approximately how scared should I be of not eating? Coming up to 9 days and I still cannot stand to eat a damn thing, I’ve had one bite of pineapple, which I spat out, I can’t even bear to chew food

Alcoholism, also known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), is a broad term for any drinking of alcohol that results in mental or physical health problems.[12] It was previously divided into two types: alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence.[1][13] In a medical context, alcoholism is said to exist when two or more of the following conditions is present: a person drinks large amounts over a long time period, has difficulty cutting down, acquiring and drinking alcohol takes up a great deal of time, alcohol is strongly desired, usage results in not fulfilling responsibilities, usage results in social problems, usage results in health problems, usage results in risky situations, withdrawal occurs when stopping, and alcohol tolerance has occurred with use.[1] Risky situations include drinking and driving or having unsafe sex among others.[1] Alcohol use can affect all parts of the body but particularly affects the brain, heart, liver, pancreas, and immune system.[3][4] This can result in mental illness, Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome, an irregular heart beat, liver failure, and an increase in the risk of cancer, among other diseases.[3][4]

Boddingtons is rare over here these days so I'm surprised you have it. It was big in the 90s but it's rare nowadays.

Carling is the most popular lager over here, I think (which is ostensibly a British lager, but apparently originated in Canada). Then things like Carlsberg (Danish) and Fosters (supposedly Australian, but not very popular in Australia) are popular too - because they're both very cheap. Kronenbourg (French) is also popular, and so is Stella Artois (Belgian), which we affectionately call "wifebeater", because it has a reputation for being drunk by louts who beat their wives.

A lot of the time I'll try what's on tap though, which varies depending on which chain of pubs you're in, or often it will just be locally brewed beers. Pic related is a Fullers, one of the biggest chains of pubs in Britain (Wetherspoons I think might be bigger, but they're definitely both far bigger than any other chain). You can see London Pride, which is a beer brewed by Fullers and thus available in all their pubs, but then most of the other beers in the photo are local ones, or just ones from relatively small breweries, and they'll probably only be stocked for a while before being swapped for other ones.

Any of you bros managed to successfully "moderate"? I'm not gonna dance around it, I definitely have a problem when it comes to alcohol and binge drinking. But after years of being a drunk I finally have it somewhat under control. I'm sober monday through friday for work, friday night I get shitfaced to my heart's content, and then saturday I have a six pack to taper me back to sobriety. Sundays are hell, but I feel terrific during the week and still manage to get to the gym 3-4 times

Non DT withdrawal is basically like constant, intense anxiety. You can't sit still, your heart won't stop beating fast, you sweat, and you're constantly worried about something. You can't quite put a finger on it, but you're super worried anyway

I'm doing okay with moderation. I'm in the same boat as you, only drink on weekends, and sometimes not even. I think of myself as an alcohol because usaully when I drink on the weekends I drink until I black out and then feel so fucking anxious about it it ruins my entire week. The day I get drunk on a weeknight is the day it's all over for me.

The V8 and Jager is surprisingly good. I will honestly drink this again. Maybe with a little worchestershire, or caesar rimmer. It's much better than milk. Heartburn is gone.

Mountain Dew, on the rocks out of a Libbey DuraTuff (TM) Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber Waikiki tumbler.

I haven't had any kind of booze in two days. Feels good. Last purchase: 4L of Carlo Rossi merlot, finished it in about 72 hours. Before that, sixpacks of PBR or Miller High Life (from two bodegas in the neighborhood, can't have cashiers correctly believing I'm boozing every day). Before that, a plastic handle of Evan Williams green label taken in doubleshots. Hoping the sobriety sticks this time. I'm working on a writing submission that could get me a job and I really need to concentrate and the lack of booze is fucking with me. I can't stop refreshing /lit/.
