I'm leaning toward the shortrib myself.

What's the deal with every mid tier restaurant serving pork belly with either scallops or prawn and "stone fruit". I first tried it on a menu about 5 years ago, and now its fucking everywhere.

The atmosphere is more formal than outside. It is dark, warm and cozy. Great for impressing business clients or for a quiet date night. It was equally impressive as the outside restaurant, just a whole different vibe.

From the moment our table sat down we were met with a manic, hurried waiter that wanted to nail us down on cocktails. When only one person decided on wine, I sensed annoyance. Oh well. We carried on.

I placed my order for Sea Bass and asked if the waiter would make a simple steamed broccoli without butter or oil on it for my side. It wasn't a complicated re-order. At least, it shouldn't have been. But, it was.

As you might have guessed, my dish came out wrong. When the waiter asked how it was, I showed him the greasy, oily mistake. I got the look of aggravation as he took my order back.

When my meal finally returned (about 10 min later) it looked EXACTLY the same as when I sent it back. Again, our waiter asked how it was. I said, "Doesn't look much different, eh?"

He proceeded to defend the failed dish. I didn't want to make the rest of my table uncomfortable, so I just told him to never mind the whole fiasco and just passed my entree onto my husband (Who is a bottomless pit and will eat just about anything!)

Needless to say, I was not happy with the waiter ASKING ME how it was and then arguing with me about my HONEST ANSWER. This is not the kind of service or meal I'd expect from my precious Rancho Bernardo Inn.

***There aren't any pics of my meal because I wasn't planning on posting a review, but my service was so bad I thought it was my duty.

I did take pictures of the lobby and outside area the next day (they were closed until dinner)

the Tofu Tikka Malsala is a close second, but I'm a sucker for Indian food.

Well, as the person who first said I'd get the short ribs, it doesn't look like I expected. That doesn't mean it's not good, I'm sure it is, but I expected the presentation to be a little more refined and comfy, not so dry looking and scattered. Just my opinion....
