Eastern Iowa. It really does look like the pic from May to August here outside the cities. It's so boring after 27 years, I need a change of scenery. After having been to around half of the states, though, our air smells better than most places I've been, which is an underrated quality when assessing pros and cons of places to live.

Livestock farm areas are an exception, almost nothing makes driving worse than being on a highway and smelling pungent shit for 10 full minutes. Also, farmers will be harvesting field corn very soon. I'm not the guy you're replying to but I lived in Vermont from when I was born to age 18. I got out after high school and have never looked back. Vermont might look pretty to an out-of-stater but it's absolutely full of retired seniors and drug addicts. All the jobs are being forced out because of the insane taxes on small business. There's a big thing in Vermont politics and media right now about the "brain drain" because all the young people who can afford to leave Vermont for college are doing so. And with good reason. Nobody in their right mind wants to spend their youth or the start of their career in Vermont.

I currently live in New Hampshire and despite being less than 100 miles from where I grew up, it's worlds better. Taxes are lower, income is higher, job opportunities are better.

I love Vermont but fuck ever living there.
