My friend gave me 7lbs of chanterelle mushrooms last night I have never used them before. What should I make?

If you have 7lbs of Chanterelles for free you ought to be selling them on.
Your lack of OC makes me suspicious, I smell a tryhard.

they sell for like $30/lb. slice some and cook with butter then eat with steak.

i'd prolly freeze some cause there's really no way to use them in time.
you could have some boiled potatoes with chantarelle sauce or steak with the same sauve

I recommend chanterelle crepes, really tasty and hard to fuck up
the stuffing is just chanterelles and onions in 30% fat sweet cream (not the kind with added sugar ofc), plus spices (I recommend quite a bit of nutmeg and just a little black pepper)

they're extra cheap this year, it's a great year for mushrooms here in Poland

not sure why but i like the idea of tarragon and chantarelles, try it out in some way
be careful with spices/herbs though, don't want to overpower that delicious flavour of chantarelles
