I'm more bothered by that fucking cutting sheet sliding all over the table. That's even more dangerous than the dull knife she's using.

Nothing wrong with her hand placement btw, there's just two other tertiary factors at play here that make this situation much worse than it has to be.

While I admit I have seen no proof either way, what makes you conclude that?

I have never attended cooking school, but for numerous other parts of my education I have seen videos made in that fashion. The video demonstrates various mistakes and the students are supposed to identify them. I've seen it for general industrial safety training, driver's education, operating heavy machinery, and so on.

because you don't pick an eccentric, out there scenario when you want to demonstrate how to avoid the pitfalls of a typical one. it's not like she's going through the motions of making pasta sauce and making every common or obvious mistake. i can only see a couple of 'mistakes' in there. the problem /ck/ has with it is mostly down to her oddball preferences.

not to mention the ludicrous notion that they went through the trouble of authentically staging and acting out a nervy italian housewife in her kitchen.

No, she's fucking it up from start to finish. That's the *point* you see. Nothing in that video is a "mistake" as in "Done incorrectly accidentally", it is done incorrectly *on purpose*. The students are supposed to be able to pick out everything that's wrong.

It's not at all surprising that /ck/ can't manage it.

to differentiate between mistakes and other actions for which the video is ridicule, like weird choices or whatever.

using a ton of oil to infuse flavour into your sauce isn't a 'mistake', nor is using canned sauce to make sauce. it works for her.
