i really like his videos, but the way he talks always rubs me the wrong way, the way he shifts his pitch in the middle of the sentence constantly. it sounds really forced and impersonal

In his older videos he's a lot more even tone and monotonous but he would still changes his inflection every so often

Chef John is the man

His pacing, humour, and actual competence in the kitchen puts him way above most """""""chefs"""""""" on youtube. Maangchi, Cooking With Dog (RIP Francis), and Binging With Babish are definitely quality, though.

The vast, vast majority of the recipes in my personal cookbook at Chef John recipes.

I like him because we share political opinions. Otherwise his videos are lackluster and uninspired.
