I like them fried, but as pickles they're really nice.
I only came to like pickles as an adult, now I have to exercise self control with them. Homemade pickled onions and banana peppers are incredibly good.

Have you tried red pickled cabbage? It's great on burgers, or as a side itself.

Cabbage and cucumber tsukemono is good, only takes a couple of hours to pickle.
