People eat strawberries with chicken salads and cured pork with cantaloupe pretty frequently. Whipped cream is a dessert topping, that's just as bad as your candy argument.

Those all sound gross on a pizza. Pineapple, however, works very well and I don't pretend to know why. It just works. Pineapple + ham + jalapeno + bbq sauce = a divine mixture. Don't knock it til you've tried it, genderqueer.
