Hard to go wrong with mirepoix.

Rabbit is tough, rubbery, and tasteless in a stew. Unless you are an experienced cook, you have little chance of making the rabbit palatable. I'd search for a way to cook it that leaves it tender. But that's not gonna happen if you stew it.

You're fucking nuts! Stewing is a way to tenderize tough meat with little fat. Ignore this guy OP. Any long simmering braise or stew recipe works nicely with rabbit. If it's really old when I kill it, I'll often make a German style sauerbraten where I marinade it in vinegar. But if you bought it, it was domesticated and is as tender as a chicken.

Make sure to use lots of carrots

I don't know about domesticated because I've only eaten the ones I've hunted. I assume it will work, but you may want to reduce the marinade time.
