Yeah, it's good. I don't know if it's the King of instant ramen, but I'll tell you about the disgraced court jester of instant ramen. It was called something like Nissan. I bought a half-ton at Big Lots for $.10 and after taking one bite I immediately knew why they were practically giving it away.

If you don't want spicy noodles then Nongshim is not the best.

I do like Nongshim but it seems like they're the only brand carried in American grocery stores that isn't Top Ramen, and that's really disappointing given all the variety that's out there. Dear instant ramen makers, please distribute ur shit in America!

I lived in Korea for like 12 years so I have a little bit of knowledge on the wonderful world of instant ramen.

Shin Ramen: usually at top of polls in RoK, spicy beef broth
Shin Ramen Black: same as above but deeper bone broth
Jin Ramen: Comes in Spicy/mild. Both are good.
Ansungtangmyeon: Miso based broth, spicy
Nugoori Myun: Literally Raccoon noodles. Spicy seafood broth, Korean domestic has whole kombu seaweed piece, international has kombu pieces.
Kimchi Ramen: self explanatory.

Paldo, Samyang, Ottoogi, and Nongshim are all good companies. If there's red on the package/ramen pic, it's gonna be spicy. If there's no red, probably not. Flames? really spicy.

I'm eating Shin Ramyun right now, it is indeed the most delicious Instant Ramen for those who want to just pour in boiling water and wait, or even use the microwave (which I did).

Nissin's Demae ramen ,出前一丁 series, actually taste better though, but only if you rinse the noodles after cooking - there is an oily film that makes it taste off if you skip that step.

I love the original one that comes with sesame oil and in a red package. A lot of HK-style tea cafe serve this as an all day breakfast option with egg and ham or egg and wiener.

Shin Raymun Black is on the same level. I love to sip the leftover broth real slow after I've finished the noodles.

I'd die eating these deep fried, salt saturated packets of HBP without a care in the world. I've had real raymeon/ramen that taste inferior to both brands.

This Singaporean brand is an oddity. The texture of their noodles is average and they do the hipster marketing shit like "Low fat, natural flavorings, low MSG" etc. However, it's seasoning powder is the only one that my household ants would go after. aight you lazy underaged fuck - cut your beef into thin slices, 2-3mm - however thin you can reasonable be arsed to. heat up a pan good, put in about two three tbsp of oil - it need not cover the whole bottom. put it in the slices, shit ought to be noisy and smoky - care for the smoke alarm. constantly stir the slices, if your heat is high enough they ought to brown in a minute or two. reduce heat to low, drizzle soy, lemon juice, sugar and something hot like cayenne or sriracha - if you are new to hot stuff one tsp sriracha per say 150g of meat, less is more unless hotness is all you want to taste. toss to coat for 30sec or so, heat off and off the stove if its electric. if you got it - fry minced ginger and or garlic in the oil before the meat, they will infuse the oil, fry till translucent unless you want to discard em before meat.

Used to have these all the time.

They're not horrible if you haven't had good miso soup lately.

Put a whole packet of crushed red pepper, like the kind you get with pizza. Perfect amount for a single package and makes that shit pretty hot.

I agree. It's the powder and the noodle quality, imo. Both are shit compared to Maruchan.

these are the best. my only issue is with nongshim pretty much discontinuing hot and spicy in the stores I go to. or so the stores discontinuing hot and spicy.
you can make due with gourmet spicy if you buy it in the packet and use less water than usual.

In the cup it tastes horrid if you grew up with hot and spicy.

still though these are the best noodles you can get.

Most of the "dry" instant noodles only recommend you drain the water away and mix it up with the sauce. You can always stir-fry them if you choose, though.
