Interesting fact .. Google 'Mendip Wallfish' ?

Snails in the West Country (Mainly Somerset, England) were once called Mendip Wallfish, mostly to make them a bit more appealing.

The Moar you know eh?

That one? No, it's someone's pet, and is probably too huge to be especially tasty.

I have eaten snail before, though. They're not terrible, but I wouldnt seek them out.

Well, this is a giant african snail. They're relatively popular as pets in some places... Unfortunately, my last relationship ended because I have accidentally killed my ex GF's giant snail, Gary. Ironically, I was cooking when this happened. I had the carelessness of caressing him with my fingers soiled with some lemon juice drops. She immediately noticed that it recoiled at my touch. What hurts me in that history is that I really liked Gary... It was very cute. But now I am considered an "asshole, low-average inteligente" killer.

They probably dont have a sophisticated enough nervous system to really have anything there to feel anything, but its actions are still weirdly cute and somewhat easy to ascribe human emotions to.

Already eaten snails.

Came in some sour-like broth which it had been stewing in. Used toothpicks to pry it out of the shell.

Was meaty and pleasant enough to eat.
