Without seeing the video, I'm going to have to side with the Singaporean. Coming from a place that values food (a major coastal city), I'd be pretty pissed if some dumb flyover made a EEW YUCKEE video of them eating a fresh fish or some seasonal vegetables, and making loud gagging noises and going "am I gonna get diarrhea lmao weird food WEEERD!" because it's not the tendies and ranch they're used to.

Pretty much the only thing tourists do in Singapore is take pictures of the "no durians" signs on the MRT, it's like it never even occurs to people that it's a food, and some people actually enjoy it.

I used to work at Panda and I can say that it CAN be super fresh because it's all chopped and cooked from raw, but you have to know what's been made in the last few minutes instead of left out on the steam table....the sauce congeals into a glue and ruins most things, but if you can see vapor coming off of the stuff it might be some of the best Americanized Chinese food

The Mexicans actually explain why the items aren't "authentic." Across the generations, you have a difference in opinion, so it's not just snobbish Millennials shitting all over food. The Afircan one is interesting because they don't have a point of reference for African good. They're joking, kind of shitting on their own distantly related culture, and overall experiencing a food that is about as foreign to them as it would be to us.

The Sushi video is fine. Honestly, though I hate Buzzfeed, a lot of their "__ expert/chef reviews ___" are normally fine because the usual Buzzfeed cancer is barely involved. And again, they deconstruct and explain the issues.

I personally find referring to british food as "cuisine" galling. I grew up in the US and moved to England when I was 19, and I don't think I've ever encountered more hearty, comforting food since before my grandma died, but it's great food.
