Grew up in a fishing hamlet, Bagenkop, and my father was a fisherman so we naturally ate lots of fish. Mostly plaice and cod.
Salted boiled cod with diced bacon and mustard sauce. That's the good stuff right there.

When I moved out and had to learn to shot and cook myself I was almost knocked on my ass when I saw what fish actually costs in a store. I never had to pay for a whole cod in my life, it was just something you asked for down by the docks and then got. You brought the guy a beer of course, but that was it.

Fishery has largely died out now, and Bagenkop right along with it.
