I fucking hate these threads. Define your goddamn parameters better. The best, of any cookware, would undoubtedly be made of silver with a lining. Heat it up to proper temperatures before adding in oil and boom, you have a non stick skillet. But it can still create a nice fond if needed. Unlike cast iron, you could cook with acidic foods, and it obviously has the superior heat distribution of all metals.

I picked up one of those last month since my 10 year old teflon pan was beaten up and I had to toss it. Pretty impressive, I always thought of calphalon as a 2nd rate product but nah.
>>8415975
But cast iron is terrible, 2.5mm of copper lined with 18/10 stainless is the best all-purpose skillet, anyone who disagrees with this is stupid.

But the reality is if you are remotely serious about cooking you should have a variety of tools for different jobs. Stainless lined copper or alu for most tasks. Cast iron for oven work. Nonstick alu for fish and eggs and such. Tinned copper for saucemaking. And so on.

I mean you wouldn't try to cook with a ka-bar combat knife unless you had no choice, would you? Only an idiot would do that. But that's the mentality of the kind of people who think cast iron pans should be used for everything. Their lives are perhaps a little too comfortable and safe, so they have to cosplay like they're pioneers in the old west. Ridiculous.

Stainless is very hard to season (not impossible, but the layer is very fragile) and unlike Chromium unlike Teflon is actually toxic.

Teflon can do acidic sauces, meat, delicate fish, eggs all varying from reasonably well to excellent. Everything else simply fails completely on at least one of those. It is the all around winner.

but I cought him that this video is a massive BS and it should not be released.
New video should be made where he is not ashamed to show the final product,
he is known to bust other cook's asses for sloppy food so he should also be strict with his own food.

Look how shitty he deals with this steak failure in his own restaurant, Ramsay is full of shit here,
