Interestingly, I believe you. When I was in LA one time, I took a female Korean who was fluent in Japanese to a sushi restaurant and they were incredibly impolite. She said the comments they were making about the white male with asian girl were grossly rude. Service was terrible as well. Having spent considerable time in Japan where courtesy and politeness, especially to customers, is absolutely taken for granted, I was shocked. I basically wrote it off as them still having issues about their ancestors being incarcerated in the US concentration camps during WWII.

Having said that, The Japanese are probably the most racist of all Asian cultures.
