I just made tomato sauce with Roma tomatoes from Italy, and it's very sweet. When I tried it I was literally stunned.

However, it is possible that my sister dumped some sugar into the pot while I was in another room (we had an argument).

Is there any way to be certain? She refused to answer me.

I use homegrown Romas, both fresh and canned and it should have a nice sweet acid balance. It is not, however, "very sweet." She dumped sugar in it. Suggest dumping in her lap.
