Jack Scalfani was starting a sauce/spice business with a friend of his in California, but at the last minute his friend dropped out and Jack was already financially invested to some extent so he went ahead and came up with The Best BBQ Sauce You'll Ever Taste.
He can't really cook, but is somewhat computer savvy (I think his brother is and he just piggy backs, but I don't know), so he started making Youtube Videos to advertise the sauce. If you watch his early vids they stop like halfway through then really loud ads for the sauce play.
Anyway, time passes his channel grows, people like to watch him fail or fumble through dishes either ironically or in earnest and now it's a full time job. He's gotten somewhat better, but he's still pretty bad at it.
He used to be a radio DJ, so engaging his audience with "huh... come in close... what do you think about XYZ? NICE!" were pretty big crutches when he began but he doesn't do it as much now.
